You can delete them by clicking on the (x) on the upper right of your post. This just happens sometimes.
While replacing your battery pair, also replace your filter. Once all the new goodies are installed then see how the run times and dirt bin contents improve by sending it on a new cleaning session.

I was looking for a way to delete the message - there is no X in the upper right of my post. (It just appeared with this message - thanks)
I'll order the battery and see what happens. Hope it's easy to install.
Deleting posts only works when the last post in thread -- in case someone referenced the post later. They can be edited to blank or "duplicate deleted" etc.
Only diagnostic tests over USB and experiments can identify what, if anything, is wrong with the Neato. A very short run time, in a relatively clean space, is not going to pick up much dirt.
Not much can be said without very detailed observations and the complete history of the machine etc.
[edit] a clogged filter can also prevent dirt pickup. Or a brush turned off. A known-good battery is needed. It's a complex system.
New Batteries are selling at $49.+ for 2 on Amazon. Seems expensive for a test. My 6 year old iRobot Roomba 580 didn't have battery problems in 2 years. Is there a program that's needed to do the diagnostic tests?
Two things are needed in order to query the Neato for sensor information. Your USB cable used to flash the Neato along with the software download driver and of course a PC terminal program to allow you to send and receive info between the Neato and the PC.
You would normally register the unit under MyNeato at Neato's website, and see links to software updates.
Without completing an update, the first step to download the driver or "update tool" will be shown.
See the mods list top of main page for NeatoControl program, and the USB command manual for using telnet programs such as Putty or Hyperterminal.
There are many issues to examine before analyzing specific components over USB. Whether the filter is good, the age of the battery, frequency of use, whether the brush and fan are working, navigational performance etc. There is more to see than just "doesn't clean well". Clean what? How much dirt? How often? How long in use? What problems has it had in the past? What brush? Have the blades been replaced for wear? How worn are they?
If it cleans one room, which room? Any difference between single room runs in different rooms?
The USB commands will not tell you much whether the filter is good except by examining the vacuum current load running, which will be very low when clogged compared to something near 1 amp or more for a new filter.
Neato and Roomba battery use cannot be perfectly compared. Neato makes heavy use of a battery which requires replacement every 1-1.5 years according to the manual (200-300 charging cycles as mentioned). This is consistent with the specifications for these types of batteries, determined by the particular cell technology used.
So to the brass tacks: how much has the battery in this Neato been run? How many times per day, how many days per year, how many years? They require almost annual replacements.
Early Neatos were like the early 5900 Scoobas. The charging system was basically cooking the packs. Heat is not a friend to NiMH cells. I had several XV-11 rev 113 boards on 2.1 that caused early pack failures.

I do not use it much either. Maybe it would be better to take it off the base and recharge the night before use? Don't know whether this would add extra cycles to the batteries.

I guess they've changed the web site because the mods list is not there.
