iRobot Roomba 885 & New LI-ion system

Post by vic7767 »

A little bird told me that iRobot has announced the new Roomba 885 will be equipped with their own new LI-ion pack. What is not known is capacity and charging system info.

The thing is 6 years = $$. Let us wait and see the final capacity and cost of the new hardware for the 885 Roomba.

Looks like the battery will fit R3 units - wonder if it will be backwardly compatible?

Battery itself could fit, but what about hardware/software? It probably would not be the same and as vic7767 stated, they're more concerned to make money, than satisfy 'old' customers - like me & you.
