I just per-ordered the Developer Edition of JIBO from indegogo. If you aren't familiar with indegogo, it's a crowd funding website.
Their initial goal was for $100,000. It took a mere 4 hours to reach it. This is a huge breakthrough in home robotics!!
It's going to be a while before they ship out the Developer Edition Q3 2015. Public release will be early 2016.

There are several options available with pricing on the link I provided above.
The Home Edition is $499.00, the Developer Edition is $599.00. There is an option you can pay $199.00 now, and $349.00 at time of shipment.

Yes, but if they deliver the robot, it will be in it's own class. The first Family Robot!!

Looking at its promised capabilities, it does what a number of phone apps do, with various degrees of success (or mostly lack thereof).
So, it's a $600 phone app, with unproven track record and without the phone. What's the point of it, really?

So now that you have a Jibo what do you think? Is it what you expected? Is team Jibo updating it regularly? I got a Indiegogo campaign Moorebot but they have not updated software in over a year.
