old fisher amps

came across this forum dated 2015 when asking about an older fisher CA854 amp. I recently came into possession of my father-in-law's CA854, never knew it to work, when I power it up it only shows power standby. Had the covers off, everything looks to be in good condition, tried the remote to see if that activated the amp--no. Don't have the skill to diagnose electronic components yet am competent to use a volt meter. Any help to perhaps put this back into service would be appreciated. Thank You
