Neato D6 WiFi Issues

Post by Beau »

My Neato D6 will clean the floor if the manual button is pressed and return the the docking station making all the normal sound with no warning lights. However, when I go to add it to my IOS app....I put the Neato in pairing mode (holding both right bumper and power button), I select D6, Then WiFi select Neato******** and it links, back to App connected Green, Next select home Wifi (my network is not listed). I then enter WiFi SSID/ Password manually at the bottom of the screen, next I name the Robot and click next and nothing else happens?

I then suspected a firmware issue and downloaded the two versions from GitHub 4.6.0.72 and 4.5.3.189 tgz valid to 19.03.26, both appeared to install as the .trz had been removed from the RobotData file but the Robot had a Red light after the installation. However, I have loads of bin files as listed on the memory stick as listed below. When I connected Toolio even after updating to 4.5.3189 the software was listed as 4.6.0.72 (note Date below) so I don't think it had installed even though the .trz file had go from the usb memory stick?

I would be grateful of any suggestion on what I can do to resolve this issue?

Thanks
David..

Are you using a 2.4ghz network or 5ghz? I think there was an issue with using 5ghz

I'm defiantly on 2.4ghz as both my D5 and D7 work without any issues connecting to my home network. I have again tried to downgrade the software to 4.5.3.189 as Toolio informs me I running the higher version 4.6.0.72, I cleared the old files as recommended and tried three different memory stick. I get the fast flashing led's on the Neato and the memory stick light flicker continuously and it never stoped and rebooted the robot, so after an hour I powered off the robot and tried to pair again but failed at the same point, as in my first post.

The firmware listed on the Github sit does not list the D6 is the above firmware compatible with the D6? If so, what an I doing wrong how long should it take to update the firmware and what size memory stick have people used to successfully update their Neato D6?

Hi

Further to my previous post, I loaded a 1Gb memory stick with the Neato_4.5.3_189.tgz, and tried again with a slightly different procedure as below.....

1 Hold the power button until the neato turns off.
2 Remove dirt bin.
3 Hold Left bumper in (both switches....Left front & Left side) press the power button once and continue to hold the bumper for ten seconds and release.
4 When the Neato has rebooted and played the tone.
5 After hearing the boot tone.
6 Insert the cable and memory stick with the .tgz file in a RobotData folder
7 The two Led's by the power button will flash rapidly, alternating.
8 This should only take a few minuets and the led's will stop flashing and the neato should reboot and play the tone again.

This time I linked and pair to an Andriod Tablet and it connected without any of the previous issues, I will try tomorrow to add this D6 two my iPhone with my other two Neato's and will keep you posted.

I had tried the Android Tablet before with the same issues as the iPhone, however, I hope this will be of help to others with the similar problems..

Regards
David.

I think the signing on that file actually ran out. I know it was updated for a little bit longer and was sent in a topic in here but I don’t know if the GitHub was updated.
EDIT: Just checked it, yep, it’s up to date so that’s not the issue
