Don't buy Roborock

Post by Etbrown4 »

Don't buy any Roborock with "Carpet Boost." . The carpet boost function is intermittent or unreliable on Q5 pro+, and perhaps Q8, S5, S7 and others, so you usually get low suction on carpets if my Roborock is like others. Apparently lots of complaints on reddit and other forums for years, so they have apparently knowingly been shipping defective units worldwide.

Maybe better get a roomba or other brand. This very unresponsive company tried to tell me my rollers were worn out, but guess what, it has just 3 hours of use. Really!

This company is not to be trusted in my experience. Roborock is trash if other Roborocks are like mine. It's a shame because other than "Carpet Boost"it does well, but what is the purpose of a vacuum that won't switch to high vacuum on carpets?

I'm just seeing this post now. I bought a Roborock S7 Max V Ultra in July 2023 and after having it go back for service four times in the first two months, Roborock replaced it with a new unit which has been working flawlessly since September 2023. Carpet boost works PERFECTLY on my carpets, so maybe there's something about your carpet type that is causing issues? I have several rooms which have carpeted and non-carpeted areas, and even an office where there is a carpet, but also one of those plexiglas sheets to protect the carpet from my office chair. When the office is cleaned, the unit is BOOSTED while on carpet, and not boosted while on the plexiglas. I also have an area rug in my master bedroom and in my living room, and the carpet boost works properly (and automatically) on those area rugs.

If I have one complaint about the Roborock, it's that they have not rolled out many software enhancements over the two years I've been using it, preferring instead to apply new software features on newer models.
