Regarding iRobot's Dirt Dog

Post by redmaid »

Hi again,

I'm considering purchasing a Dirt Dog Robot, & am wondering if this Robot is really any good.

If there are different models, which is/are best?

Thanks in advance for your suggestions. :)

Hello Maria. There is only one Dirt Dog. I haven't used one, but from what I have read it does a great job keeping the garages/outside porch clean. You won't want to run the Dirt Dog on carpet (It will burn up the motor). I'm sure one could use it on tile, or lunoleum only..

Thanks Chris (Fraggboy), for your reply.

The husband has been keeping an eye on my Robo-Ruby (Roomba Red), and I thought i'd get him one of these to clean the garage, hobby shop, basement (his domain  )

O.K., truth is--I want one because I'm usually the one who cleans those areas up anyway :!:

Thanks again,

~Maria :)

Too funny!! The Dirt Dog doesn't have a vacuum, so the dust bin can hold more debris. When you do get it, I would probably check the contents of the dust bin to make sure you don't throw away an important bolt or screw your hubby has been looking for..

I purchased a Dirt Dog back in July and I really like it. I have a docking station and I schedule it to run everyday, it keeps the garage floor nice and clean, and sometime in the dirt bin I find gold, bolts and nuts and things I have dropped and did not know I had lost them. Like another post said it does not have a vacuum just two brushes, it does not have a dirt detect and only has an on off button very basic but works.

I would buy another, I like it that much.

I just got a Dirtdog and charged it overnight (I got it for my dad)
It'll run the garage and the shop he works on old Stanley Steam cars so the shop has dirt dust ect and a little bit of metal shavings. I'll let ya know how well it does with that it'll make its first run today.. after we all have had our coffee

I love mine but it just got sent in for warranty replacement (something iRobot does not make easy) and it was not very old. If they are as unreliable as mine I don't know... maybe this one was a fluke.

I'd better get it back before fall leaves hit the patio.

My Dirt Dog runs happily on carpet. Mind you, it's a low-pile carpet, similar to what you find in offices.
