Hello,
I got my Roomba up and working and I can't believe how good of a job he does. I got him at a thrift store for novelty purposes but he has been keeping my floors really clean in between using our upright!
The only problem I am still having is he has issues climbing onto the area rug in the living room. Is there anything I can do to make it less of an obstacle? The rug isn't super thick but I'm not horribly surprised he is having issues. I was just hoping there were a few adjustments I could make to alleviate the problem.
Thanks

There are no mechanical adjustments that will help out in that area. You might check and verify that the deck height adjustment string or wire (depends on the model) is in place.
Re: Roomba gets stuck on area rug
I took it completely apart and there was a motor with a string on it. The string screwed into a little hole above the motor. Is that the wire you are referring to?
It looked like the motor was free spinning and the string allowed it to curl around. Not sure if that is right or not.

oh wait I already do

Re: Roomba gets stuck on area rug
Funny story. I have been running into this exact issue. Well, today I was doing a little searching around for a fix, and I ran into a youtube video that states covering the 4 front ledge sensors on the (essentially deactivating them) will alleviate this issue. However, I didn't have the appropriate materials, so I went ahead and placed my Roomba on the area rug and "trained" it to clean it. I covered the front sensor with my hand as I lead it around the rug... works like a charm now and goes up over the lip when it does it's scheduled cleaning.
