Hi.
When turning on the robot, it briefly tries to move (using one wheel, as the other wheel is stuck), and then prompts the error C03.
I googled it and got: "Foreign matter caught in the right driving wheel", but there's no foreign matter.
After opening up the robot:
I found the white cogwheels rotate poorly, and when rotated make a different sound compared to the healthy cogwheels in other wheel.
I swapped the left cogwheels with the right cogwheels, and the issue still persisted on the same side. So it seems like it's a problem with the motor, not the cogwheels themselves.
Any ideas what could be the problem (POWERBot Cyclone Force SR20H9030U)?
Thanks.

The only way to tell is swapping the motors instead of the gears, which is pretty unusual in itself. These things are built to replace the entire drive assembly, available from Samsungparts.com, or other agents in Europe and UK. I don't think the motor is sold separately, but you can check.
A service manual for a related, 9250 model identifies available parts, you can read at

I don't think this 9000 series is made anymore, so consider buying parts while available.
Motors like this have a tachometer sensor used for regulating speed and also detecting stalls, which is used to produce "stuck" error conditions. Defects in the sensor could be involved besides wearing out brushes in the motor or what not -- Samsung parts are usually durable. Engineering data and instruments would be needed to analyze this, and in the end you would still need to replace the motor. You could also check ebay for used replacement assemblies. All these parts are expensive. I recently got an entire 9350 for only $200. Hobbyists have often used "loaner" models for parts.

Hi glnc.
Thanks a lot for the info. I tried looking online for a replacement part but no luck.
I think I'll just send it to a nearby lab then.
Have a great day

I had to replace one of these wheels the other day. Don't have time to tear it down to find out what was wrong, but swapping the wheel unit fixed it. The wheel turned fine, and there were no noises or visual signs...\

Where did you get a replacement wheel if I may ask?Brett wrote:I had to replace one of these wheels the other day. Don't have time to tear it down to find out what was wrong, but swapping the wheel unit fixed it. The wheel turned fine, and there were no noises or visual signs...\

Got one from the "organ donors" I have in the morgue.
Given the difficulty in getting spares for these you would probably do well to buy any that you find that are not working - still rare as rocking-horse sh!t, I know.

Some 9000 series drive motors are listed at U.S. ebay besides entire drive assemblies
