Blue light on Roomba stays on most of time on clean floor

Can anyone tell me if they know why a Roomba Scheduler Intellibin would suddenly start displaying the blue dirt detector light most of the time? My Roomba actually is still working well, except that the blue light blinks almost constantly (but operates as if it were off) and alternately the blue light is on solid during which period it either goes in a squiggly line or circles. It occasionally goes off but is on 75 percent of the time. This is generally on very clean floors as I clean not less than daily sometimes more.

I know the light is a sensor light that is supposed to indicate when pieces of dirt are hitting the sensor and I have tried to clean the inside of the bin well, but no change. Any ideas?

You have to clean the inside dirt detector that are full of dirt. It is in the FAQ ... when Dirt detector is fulltime on (because of too much dirt), Roomba bypass the thing + let the blue light on ...

There have been reports by owners finding some piece of debris stuck in a main-brush. Every time the brush revolves, it whaps the stuck item against a dirt-detector. The dirt-detector than sends a signal to the head-shed, and it lights the blue LED to inform you that stuff is hitting a dirt-detector.
Try inspecting the main bristle brush for something that does not belong there. Get it out, and good luck!

Gordon, you're brilliant :D . I didn't really look at the brushes because I thought the problem had to be in the bin. I clean my brushes regularly but recently apparently my Roomba found some easter grass that did not wrap tightly around the brush, but rather just kept going around and hitting that sensor.

I just love this forum and would not enjoy my robots a fraction as much without it.

THANKS :P

I think the Easter Bunnys got together for a conspiracy this year against 'Bots. A "bad" one visited my neighborhood this year.

I got in a Discovery 4210. It said it didn't work but I ran it through diagnostics and did the test drive, PERFECT, so cleaned and greased and reassembled,Still passed all tests, but alas, the blue dirt detector now stays on full time whenever the battery is in. Did I short something out with my cleaning? This seemed fine but I accidentally got into diagnostics self advance tests, and it got a head of me on the table and when entering test 7, first wheel test, it took off on the table and I hit the power button to stop it, that is when the blue light came on and will not turn off.

HELP!

Disconnect the Dirt Detector connector from the circuit board and see if the DD LED turns off.

Disassembled, disconnected plug from circuit board. Light still on.

It would appear that there is a failure on the circuit board. I have no clue as to what component is responsible.

Thanks for your help, I really appreciate it. Seems so strange that it passed all the tests and worked so well and then during diagnostics, this happened. Seems like there is a connection but sure can't figure out what, and of course, just because two things happen at the same time, doesn't mean they are related.

Ran through all the wiring again, couldn't find any problem. Then I remembered reading somewhere on this list about a Roomba whose power light stayed on ever when the battery was out, (think it was the power button). The solution was in the buttons. I took the control panel button cover off and sure enough, a drop of water right in that light control button. Dried with Q tip, re assembled, Voila. Happy Camper. Hope this helps someone else some day who experiences this same issue.
