Husqvarna Robotic Lawn Mower Makes Chores Easier

Post by kaidomac »

I can't decide if it looks more like Knight Rider or the Batmobile

Lawn mowing, the bane of teenage boys' existence everywhere, just got a whole lot easier. Husqvarna's Auto Mower is the robot lawnmower we all dreamed about while pushing that POS John Deere around as kids, and now it's here. Although, with the price hitting the thousands of dollars mark, it's probably cheaper to just buy a crappy push mower and hire some local kids to do it for you. The cycle of punishment continues

Well, I don't know. I have looked at several videos on youtube, etc. of this mower as well as the Lawnbott and the Robomower. I decided to go with the Robomower for it's size and robustness as well as power. Also, I really like the systematic zig-zag motion of the Robomower as opposed to the randomness of the others. By watching youtube videos of the above mower and the Lawnbott, they just seemed to sound canney and delicate as they were cutting and also seemed to bounce around on the lawns that were not just perfectly smooth. A Robomower is heavier and also seems to be more rugged and over built (which to me is a good thing). With battery it weighs about 75 lb. Not something someone would just walk off with easily. Also, I believe this Husqvarna mower actually uses razor blade like cutters on it that I have read tend to dull rather quickly because of their thinness and can even be destroyed if the mower hits a small stick or other slightly harder than grass object. My Robomower does not have too much of an issue with small sticks or small objects and the blades are not dulled that quickly because of their thickness and size. Either way, I have been most pleased with my RL1000. jmo.

That looks like the Robomow RL. Have you seen any of the new models? http://usa.robomow.com/shop/
