Vibration noise?

Post by RockinRay »

Hi all,

One one of my XV-15 units, when it goes over our carpeting, on occasion it make a sound like a loud vibration. If I push down on the front of the unit, I can re-create this noise.

The unit works just fine, but I am wondering how I can correct this issue, or if there is nothing to worry about. It only makes this noise on our deeper pile carpet.

Thanks for any suggestions.

I find my XV-11 makes a louder than usual vibration when running directly across the lines of pile our fairly short looped stiff pile wool carpet. I guess there's a harmonic of sorts with the beater brushes crossing the regular slightly raised lines of pile.

Another short cut pile acrylic carpet also generates a similar noise when the Neato's moving at its fastest in a straight line. I suspect it's again a brush/carpet harmonic of sorts developing at just that speed. Although there's no visible lines of pile in this close cut carpet, maybe the brush can feel them.
