Neato XV-14 from Costco with firmware 3.2
Neato XV-14 from Costco with firmware 3.2
Hello all,
New robot owner here. We ordered a Neato XV-14 from Costco. It came with an accessory kit which included extra filters, flapper thingies, and a pet roller brush. Price was $249.00.
According to the Neato website, latest firmware is 3.1 which includes a revised corner cleaning algorithm. Mine however came with 3.2.18755. I couldn't find a change log of what differs in this versus 3.1. Can anyone shed any light?
Anyway, the Neato is charging now. I hope I have a set of good batteries that'll last the rated run-time otherwise will give Neato a call or perhaps order a custom set of batteries with a higher amp rating.
Thanks for your time and responses!

BTW, for whatever it's worth - my XV-14 did not come with extra screws or instructions to plug the batteries in. In fact, the only pre-start instruction I saw was to turn the power switch on (located under the dust bin) before hitting the start button. Just thought I'd add that since I've seen a few XV-14 posts discussing power buttons and extra battery compartment screws.
Re: Neato XV-14 from Costco with firmware 3.2
I bought and XV-14 from Costco recently and noticed the 3.2 firmware version as well. The difference I notice is that it is more careful and takes a little more time when doing the perimeter. This is an improvement for me because I use quite a bit of boundary marker to keep neato off of shag rugs that older neato units I've returned would cross frequently.
amstel78, I'm curious of what run-times you will get. I'm getting average of 40 min with the 3.2 firmware (60% hardwood, 40% carpet).

Any chance someone with a 3.2 firmware upload a short youtube video on how it behaves around corners and edges? Those of use experienced with the bot will be able to instantly spot differences in behaviour.joeschmo wrote:I bought and XV-14 from Costco recently and noticed the 3.2 firmware version as well. I'll try and get a video of the XV-14 working around corners this weekend.
As for run times, it's anywhere from 50-75 minutes so far. Last time it cleaned, it did so for over an hour before needing to recharge. All hardwood floors in my home.

Did you get it from costco.com or from a store? My local costco hasn't had any Neato vacs for a few months now.

I got it from Costco.com when they had the Neato on sale for 249.99.

Re: Neato XV-14 from Costco with firmware 3.2
I just received an XV-11 with 3.2, and I'll see if I can get some video. I need to monitor the battery life to see if it improves to "normal" or not, so I might as well just setup my camera.

Thanks, been lurking off and on for about half a year now. Figure I should probably contribute a bit back.a4refillpad wrote:Just noticed this was your first post. Welcome to robot reviews.

Re: Neato XV-14 from Costco with firmware 3.2
So this is a little bit off topic but since several people posted in here about it... Has anyone actually managed to get costco.com to cough up the $50 rebates that allowed their XV-14 to be sold for $249 a couple of months ago? I've been going around and around with them and they claim complete ignorance of it's existence, even after I submitted the form twice.

Hi guys,
sorry for long delay, but finally I have filmed video Neato XV 14 SW 3.2.18755.
Sorry for quality, length and background noise.
Hope it can bring the light how SW 3.2 behaves for room cleaning.
