3kgt thank you very much for all the photos. They have been very comprehensive and useful. Looks like a great bot to me. Personally I've always preferred the beater bar on carpet and the helix on hard floors. The side brush is definitely not a gimmick on hard floors of the edge hugging issue is resolved.
current bots: Clebo Arte, Vorwerk VR-100 (one broken one new), Neato XV-25, Neato XV-12, Roomba 564, Evo Mint 2, Roomba 770, Hauzen VC-RE70V, Samsung SR8980, Karcher RC3000, Robomow RL350 (lawnmower)

LOL

Im liking the two touch sensitive buttons for instant spot clean and instant house clean, makes the LCD display a lot less important as you'd only need to use it for setting schedules and the clock.

Those are almost invisible on cell phones, no wonder. Still can't see where it is in the pics.
There were some complaints about the XV's obsolete Mini-USB requiring an uncommon, extra cable.

The wall closeness issue is important on carpet. The side brush works only on hard floors, and may fit with the wider wall clearance used in the software. The side brush does not compensate for this on carpets, and the wider clearance is less effective cleaning. Or, with the closer fitting brush, about the same as the XV. Exact measurements would be needed to tell.

I just used the cable from my wife's Kindle. :D

Yes. There's no reason to leave a gap for the side brush. Due to its size, the side brush needs no clearance. I believe the clearance issue on the botvac is an early bug which should be fixed later on.

I don't know. They could have had a maneuvering problem with the wall sensor set farther back. Or at least a need for an entirely new maneuver algorithm relative to sensor data -- some programming which did not get done. They have not been known to fix such things very quickly, whatever the issue.

I think the bumper structure has been simplified to reduce the number of separately fastened parts, why no screws visible along the edge.
With the wall sensor off the bumper, it is less a problem to add covering to it as for lowering the edge.

The longer length will make it a little less maneuverable in tight spaces.

Now we know why the last XV model was dubbed "Signature" -- signing off on that generation of design for introduction of the follow-on.

Can you confirm what is the charger amps and voltage the unit gets and also the battery what does it show:
Please Take look inside the charger base ,battery label and what the unit button label shows(hide the S\N if u can)
If you can take the cover off the blower to see what inside.

My new model go-pro camera has a mini-usb port. Not obsolete and IMHO, less vulnerable to damage.

Very interesting how the colour scheme is very very similar to the vr100. In fact, the pure white scheme was always avoided in the past I thought for the very same reason. Now with the introduction of the side brush and the new colours. I wonder if some sort of exclusive contractual obligation had passed between the two companies allowing neato to use previously shared technologies.

3kgt, thank you for these pics and videos, and your dialogue - valuable info for everyone!

Can you let us know if the laser turret sits lower on the BotVac - even if by a fraction of an inch, I think that would be of great interest to users who have complained in the past of the turret being a sticking point of the XV series not being able to get completely under some furniture.
