Shuts off when done cleaning?
Does the Roomba Discovery automatically shut off when its done cleaning or will it run until the battery is dead? I am using clean mode and it has yet to shut off.
If they really feel like watching it, have them stand in a spot they think it's missing and see how long it takes before they have to step out of the way. It happens practically all the time.pachovia wrote:Stop watching it. It should shut off when its done. Its interesting to watch but you will think its done or missed a spot when its still got time to go. Mine runs a long time in clean mode but not until the battery is dead.
I just did a test. I put my fully charged Roomba in a small rectangle room with low carpet and no obsticles to see if it would shut off. It never shut off. The battery started draining because it turned orange. After about an hour, I put its dock down to see if it would dock. I have used it 3 times and it has never shut off on its own, not did the status light turn green. Can anyone help me? Is something wrong with it or am I doing something wrong?
Let is go until it docks or its dead. It covers the same spot in the carpet many times before its finished If it dies undocked in a medium size room you know the docking isn't working letting it run until dead won't hurt it. Mine will run for over a hour and a half before its done with a medium size room. I always thought it would not dock when I use to watch it but I run it every night at 4:00 and when I wake up at 7:00 its always docked or I when I don't pay attention and let it work it docks. Mine almost always turns orange before docking, bsneath wrote:Has anyone had a similar problem? Also my status light always looks the same color as my power button (the red, orange, or green showing battery power)
Please help me out, I emailed support but haven't heard an answer yet
I don't have a docking station but I don't think it should run until the battery is dead in a small room with no obstacles. My Red runs upstairs with 3 bedrooms open and a hall and quits with a green status light on and about a half hour of battery left. It runs in my living room, kitchen and dining room (open floor plan) and still has about 15 minutes of battery left and a green status light on. You're machine sounds very different from mine and I would suspect something may be wrong with it.
doesn't shut off either
Ours is brand new (dec. 26) and we have used it almost every day. It never shuts off when it's done. It keeps going till the light turns orange, then yellow, then red and sings the dead battery song. on a full charge today, roomba (F)red ran 1 hour and 15 mins. I'm thinking something is wrong. that just seems a short time for a full charge.
Re: doesn't shut off either
It won't clean for two hours a red dosen't have max mode. I think clean mode is more like an hour or so.sqitribe wrote:Ours is brand new (dec. 26) and we have used it almost every day. turning itself off
I haven't had mine very long yet, but so far this is what I have seen:
In a small rectangular room (~10 x 20 ft) with almost no obstacles, it stops itself (and gives the "complete" tune) after about 20 to 30 mintues (rough guess).
However, on all my larger rooms (which all are irregularly shaped and/or have many obstacles), so far, it has always shut down due to battery power drain first (haven't timed it, but after an hour, I think)
