Besides the firmware change package there will need to be a terminal communication program and a Windows driver for WinXP, Vista, and Win7(32 & 64 bit). Last word from Neato was that there in no process for the firmware patch to be applied via Mac OS

Or how about a "I didn't get the update e-mail even though my XV-11 is registered" thread or how about just a "here's how you can't get to the update on the Neato web page" thread. Image

Poor Neato. I'm guessing they are still a small company and we are Image their employees like a dog to get our update.

What do you expect. We are hard core XV-11 fans. Who else would come to a forum board to talk about their vacuums. Image

How does "lots of dog hair" relate to docking? Has anyone had a problem with this?

the page now says this.

"Neato Customers – The Neato Upgrade email you received was sent prematurely. Please check your email in the coming days for the Neato Upgrade availability link. Be assured that the team is working quite hard to make the new firmware release available to all of our customers, and we look forward to launching our online updating service as an ongoing means of providing users the latest improvements and features to the robot. We apologize for the error, and we’ll keep everyone posted when the service goes live!"

Hi,
I have lots of long dog-hair around since my white shepherd is shedding a lot... And yes, sometimes Neato has trouble to find home after cleaning the 65m² living room (2nd run after recharging). I suspected the 2x3m carpet below the living-room table (here Neato has some trouble here moving) or the cupboard with piano finish (reflecting) - but now I'll give the new firmware a try - if it really will distributed one day.

Any my Neato has been shipped from the US 2 weeks ago - i really hoped to have the new FW right away .... :?

(whistle blow) :law-police: All right. Everybody out of the pool!

Obviously, someone set the mass mailing announcement in motion a long time ago when they shouldn't have.

Neato has been silent on the release date of the "having problems with Vista" firmware update for good reason. As you can see this is a subject that causes much excitement and much disappointment when the date is missed.

The updater is close, real close, but close doesn't count as being released. It has been close to release several times, but experience has shown that starting the countdown based on that is not a good idea. The Monday-morning-internal-internal status is to have fixes ready for retest by Friday.

It will be only very short notice when there is a reasonable possibility of a release of the updater. When that happens this group will be at the top of the list to know.
