Karcher RC4000 dust bag indicator light

Post by tanbs »

Just have my new toy for 2 days and the dust bag indicator light is already red, indicating the bag is full. Unsurprisingly the bag has not have much dirt in it. The red light goes off after switching the base station off and then on. Strange.

Motor filter is clean? Did you checked for any blockage in air duct/channel of the base? I'm not sure if this indicator is triggered by air pressure switch or internal reset clock.

Thanks for the quick reply. Filter is clean, checked there is no visible blockage in the pipes. Let's see what happens in the next few days

@tanbs, I know it's very similar to the rc3000 but can we still have some photos of it on here?

Because of this thread http://www.robotreviews.com/chat/viewto ... =6&t=17634, we now have photos of the Charger Station main board. You can see that the "Bag Full" light is simply triggered by a membrane switch (white plastic cylinder), connected via a black rubber hose to the vacuum chamber where the dust-bag is housed. If the bag gets too full, the suction activates the switch and the Red LED comes on. Your switch is likely to be too sensitive. Mine has never come on - even when the dust-bag is stuffed to the limit. Pressing on the grey mebrane on top of that board-mounted switch activates the LED on the charger station panel - there's nothing more to it, and it doesn't affect operation/suction in the slightest.

Mine only comes on after the unit is so full that the dustbin vacuum is ineffective. Has happened a few times as I do not regularly check.
