Quick XV-11 reassembly question

Post by Tamerlane »

If I am remembering correctly, the removeable bumper plate (or whatever it is called) has about 10 screws attaching it to the main unit. 9 are longer and 1 shorter. Can anyone remember which hole the short screw goes in? Thanks.

The short screw goes in the corner with the wall sensor.

Good question and I have seen few customers drilled the wall sensor with the long screw :-((

The screws in plastic need to be turned lightly and not torqued heavily or over-tightened to avoid stripping the threads in soft plastic. Visual examination is needed. Electric drivers need to be handled with a loose hand, if used at all when inserting. When using the proper technique the short hole under the wall sensor is easily detected when inserting an over-long screw.

A number of tips for handling the materials are in thread "disassembly precautions"

The Botvac assembly is more robust, with Torx/Star screws.
