Re: neato HEPA filter DIY mod v1
I'm back! was gone for about a year due to work, so no time to tinker with the bot. 8) Great job there Tester! That's exactly what I had in mind as prefilters are important in any air filter systems. Yours look wonderful. I was actually playing with the idea of making a water based vacuum u...

Re: Neato XV-12
i'm wondering would there be problems with the sensors when the body is white in color. mine ran into some crazy navigation problems when i stuck some white duct tape on the corners of the neato in an attempt to protect it from scratches, but it seems to screw with the ladar/ir sensors. everything w...

Re: Another HEPA filter mod
excellent mod vic! =D
yours look much more compact than mine so i think the airflow will increase along with the surface area.
any plans to engineer a prefilter to go along with this?

Re: neato HEPA filter DIY mod v1
Thanks mate 8) i couldn't find anything suitable to use as a pre filter and I prefer to have the bigger surface area of the HEPA filter. a stiff mosquitoe net would do great i think. :D I wonder if a swiffer sweeper refill would work? is that one of those floor wiper sheet thingies? i dont ...

Re: neato HEPA filter DIY mod v1
does the suction stay normal throughout the cleaning run as i know that the filter gets clogged very easerly in my house at least so much so that on finishing the air coming out the back is basically nothing It's definitely maintaining far higher levels of suction through out the clean predominantl...

Re: neato HEPA filter DIY mod v1
MT book, I understand that a hepafilter is not nearly as permeable as the prefilter but the hepa filter has infinitely more surface area than the pre filter. That dryer sheet will clog much more quickly despite its larger pore size than the hepa simply due to the smaller surface area. Many prefilte...

Re: neato HEPA filter DIY mod v1
nice find bro! i'm sure that'll cut a lot of time in the modding cuz it already has glue in the middle to hold up the shape.vic7767 wrote:Here's a Hepa filter I found on Amazon.com that was adapted to an Aero-vac Roomba bin. It can be cut and shaped to fit the Neato bin also.

Re: neato HEPA filter DIY mod v1
Thanks for the great idea! I spent the weekend building my own HEPA filter and, after some trial and error, am very happy with the results. Since I wanted to have a removal prefilter, I decided not to add any metal grating but instead use dryer sheets. I drape the dryer sheet around the filter befo...

you'll only run into it when you try to access the circuitboards and lidar.
afaik the entire bottom can be removed without breaking seals.

Re: Neato Upgraded - initial feedback ...
well downgraded to 2.0 and my neato went back to base It's parked sideways in front of the base with the power on. Seems like 2.1 docked better. I think i'm upgrading back to 2.1. yea that happened to mine when I came back to my gallery a few minutes ago. it was parked 5inches away from the dock an...

after trying both 2.0 and 2.1, i would say i love the docking maneuver of 2.1 but everything else should stay from 2.0.

Re: neato HEPA filter DIY mod v1
Great job, Fetish! I think the lack of an HEPA filter is one of the weakness of the XV-11, but what I truly long for is also a replaceable dirt paper bag! Emptying the debris bin is the worst part of the job and the only effective (and clean) mode it to use another vacuum cleaner (with bag and HEPA...

But i'll probably post up some instructables after i'm done with v1.2 which has the replaceable prefilter.

Re: neato HEPA filter DIY mod v1
Thanks djos~ :D hearing so many members downgraded to 2.0, i figured I might as well try it too... and the airflow detection script is not there! WOOHOOO!! I just had my full powered neato run a cleaning cycle and yes this baby pulls more air than most handheld vacs, putting it between handhelds and...

Re: Ide's for FW 2.2 or next FW
One would think so but Neato has confirmed the robot does not register the base until it has completed a circuit of the room. The Neato has a laser range finder which it uses to create an occupancy map (by mapping the room edges). It also has an infra red edge sensor on the right hand side. See the...

Re: Ide's for FW 2.2 or next FW
what do you meen by (1) it alredy does that if you pause it Assuming you started your mission with Neato on the base, if you hit the PAUSE button after the Neato finishes the perimeter of the first room , Neato will add a choice to the PAUSE menu - RETURN TO BASE. This is possible because once Neat...
