Re: LG VR64607LV language

I believe the English language conversion steps have been posted here before. Nevertheless, u can follow the instructions below. U will need to download the english language file first. 1. Extract this to a clean usb (format to fat32) 2. Turn off robot vac by switch 3. Insert USB 4. Turn on robot va...

Re: LG VR64607LV language

Hi Robert, VR64 series are the latest 2015 models. It is identical to the older VR63 series except that it comes with multi language support built in, English being one of them. The VR63 series comes with only Korean language installed, though it is possible to download the English language file and...

Re: LG Hom-Bot Square time replacement battery

You will need to replace the battery when it's close to the 2nd year. It really depends on your usage pattern. Generally u will experience a shorter run time. Though the bot can return to recharge and resume it's cleaning thereafter, some people may not like to extend the cleaning time. BTW, the squ...

Re: Wait for LG Hom-Bot 3.0 or get Neato XV-14?

I am not so certain we should fault the other manufacturers for poor battery management. IMO, the reason why Karcher's NiMh batteries lasted for so many years of operation has to do with the way the bot operates. Typically, most other bots operate for the duration of 1 to 2 hours for each fully char...

Re: Wait for LG Hom-Bot 3.0 or get Neato XV-14?

The difference in price is smaller now. I have just purchased a LG VR6270LVMB Roboking, aka LG Hom-Bot 3.0 for SGD599 (approx USD470 shipped from Korea and its too good a deal to pass up on!). My 2 years old LG VR6170LVM Roboking (the previous round model) is still going strong, operated on a daily ...

Re: Wait for LG Hom-Bot 3.0 or get Neato XV-14?

No, u cant chalk up utility bills up to $500 simply charging those 2 little batteries but if u have to purchase a set of batteries every 8 months for the duration of the bot's lifespan and factor in the shipping of the bot to and fro for repairs, then that $500 difference wouldnt be very far fetched...

Re: Wait for LG Hom-Bot 3.0 or get Neato XV-14?

I dont judge a product simply by looking at videos posted by others. I do so by having own bots from these 2 manufacturers for a period of time, used in my own environment. just look at some youtube videos. Homebot can't deal with narrow entries. Multiple room isn't also as effective. A neato cleans...

Re: Wait for LG Hom-Bot 3.0 or get Neato XV-14?

Well, i'm not sure if the Neato is actually cheaper. It is indeed cheaper to purchase but it may cost more to operate: 1) Higher power consumption => higher utility bills 2) Used on a daily basis, i could not get more than 8 months of operation from its NiMh batteries. On the other hand, my LG is no...

Re: Wait for LG Hom-Bot 3.0 or get Neato XV-14?

LG's mapping system is much better than the Samsung Navibot S FYI! It handles multiple rooms without any issues and it does so consistently.

Between these 2, i'll pick the Hom-Bot 3.0 anytime.

Saw it in action at a retail demo setup. The self emptying process seems to take quite a while and its a little noisy. How long does it actually takes to complete the process?

Re: LG Home-Bot

Did u look at their latest 2012 model, the square looking unit?? It comes with a proper scheduling function FYI. http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a80/peter2883/Roboking1_zps67ae8d81.png I held off buying a replacement for my old Roomba 400 all year hoping that LG would offer real scheduling on their...

Re: Rydis R750

Thanks for the review! Can u tell us more about its mapping system? It seems to rely only on the gyro sensor for mapping (there's no camera nor a laser system). Is it able to effectively map out your cleaning environment? Any areas left out? Able to handle carpet and rugs? There's supposed...

Re: LG Hom-Bot is available in the US!!

No worries, its really easy to operate. The Korean voice isnt really an issue since u dont require the voice feedback to operate the bot. I believe the Ebay seller will provide u with an English manual anyhow. I was unable to find any retailers in the united states. Ordered one on ebay from a seller...

Re: IFA 2011 - Samsung Navibot S (Europe)

Another disappointing bot from Samsung. After so many revisions, we would have expected Samsung to learn from the past mistakes and produce a decent cleaning bot. Apparently, this is not the case even with the latest model. I dont suppose the 8980 will be any different. :(

Has anyone actually read the 8980's user manual? Did u notice how much maintenance work is required to clean the self emptying dock? I dont know how often one is required to do that but from the steps described, i certainly hope its a once in a blue moon kind of thing.

Re: Rydis R750

Robotic air cleaner??? A robot that moves around cleaning the air? Back to the R750, do u have any idea how its smart mapping works? Or is it relying on the virtual walls to identify the rooms? I went by their booth at CES this year. I was more intrigued by their robotic air cleaner, more than anyth...
