Dyson will be announcing the Dyson 360 Eye today. Formerly known as Dyson Project N223, the Dyson 360 Eye has been 16 years in the making.
The Dyson 360 Eye robot is an intelligent robot that has the most powerful suction of any robot on the market, capturing more dirt than any other robot in one pass. It combines the latest Dyson digital motor and Root Cyclone technology to separate dust and dirt, capturing particles down to 0.5 microns - that's 600 times smaller than the dot at the end of this sentence.
Dyson is teasing the announcement of 'secret project N223' on September 4th in this video posted today. From the looks of it, it appears to be an evolution of the robotic vacuum cleaner that Dyson has openly been working on for several years, most notably the prototype model DC06, which we have been discussing here at Robot Reviews since 2006!
Neato announced the BotVac line of Robotic Vacuum Cleaners today. Due to be released in April, the initial launch will consist of four new models: The BotVac70e, The BotVac 75, The BotVac 80 and the BotVac 85. The prices will range from $479 to $599.
The new Roomba 870 will clean your floors like no vacuum has ever cleaned before. Featuring the revolutionary AeroForce™ Performance Cleaning System, Roomba 870 removes up to 50% more dirt, dust, hair and debris from all floor types. The tangle-free Aeroforce™ Extractors are virtually maintenance-free, making it even easier for Roomba to tackle daily dirt build-up.
Looks like iRobot has relaunched the Evolution Mint as the new iRobotBraava. The Mint and the Mint Plus are now the Braava 320 and the Braava380t. It's unclear if there are any actual updates other than the curiously awkward new names - but from the listed specifications it would appear that they are unchanged.
iRobot announced today that it has acquired Evolution Robotics, makers of the Evolution Mint robotic floor cleaner. The Evolution Mint floor cleaner isn't known as much for it's cleaning prowess as it is for it's advanced Northstar navigation and vSLAM room mapping system.
iRobot has announced two new vacuuming robots today, the iRobot Roomba 630 and the Roomba 650. The Roomba 600 series is basically the Roomba 500 series updated for 2012 with new styling, and all of the improvements added to the 500 series robots over the years such as iAdapt, the vastly improved AeroVac bin, and the new improved brush design.
Is your current robotic vacuum cleaner not smart enough for you? iRobot is attempting to remedy that today, with the latest addition to its Roomba lineup of robovacs. The Roomba 790 introduces a wireless command center to the mix, which allows you to control the vacuum no matter where you are in the house.
I came across sphero's booth at CES and was immediately drawn to the simplicity of the Sphero's design. On the outside, it looks like an ordinary white ball. But on the inside, sophisticated electronics allow you to control the ball with your smartphone, or even use the ball itself as a controller!
Advancing the state of the art for home vacuum cleaner technology, LG Electronics (LG) showcased its new KOMPRESSOR® FOLLOW MEvacuum, a canister unit featuring technology that enables it to automatically follow the user while operational, and the latest HOM-BOT, LG’s flagship robotic vacuum cleaner, at the 2012 International Consumer Electronics Show.
LG Hom-Bot is now available for sale in the US. Once more people get wind that it's available and a few reviews start showing up, I'm willing to bet that there will be more an more homes with LG robotics in them.
Neato Robotics attended last year's CES and shared a booth in the North Hall with another exhibitor. I have been here for a few days now, and I haven't found them yet. Will I be successful in finding Neato?
Justin Bieber was on hand to unveil the Tosy mRobo dancing Robot. Things didn't quite go as well as expected, but we have the entire event for you on video, which will be uploaded shortly, so stay tuned for the complete unveiling!
Just hours before iRobot officially shows off it's products today at 7:00pm PT, iRobot has teased us with the brand new Virtual Halo - a Virtual Wall that can create a protective zone around pet food and water bowls.
