Since the Roomba 530S does not come with it’s programming port exposed I had to do a slight modification in order to get it ready for hacking. Equipped with a 1/2″ spade bit and some masking tape I carved out a hole for my serial tether to plug into.
I decided to see if I could get *most* Kärcher Robocleaner RC 3000 owners to chime in here. Generally, you see members with issues posting in the forums. Fortuately, there is very little discussion with the RC 3000 here which is a great sign. Some need batteries replaced, one wanted to revive one they purchased from eBay.
Sent my less than a year old Roomba 535 to this outfit. $50 just to send it. Sent to them in October, took until January to get a response, which was they could fix it for $455. I only paid $225 for the unit NEW! I pointed this out and they just said it's not their fault if parts to fix exceed cost of purchase. They "insist" on fixing it to be like new. Unit
The annual Consumer Electronics Show that opens in LV Thurs will feature the introduction of a crowd of tablets. The usual suspects, for instance smartphones and gaming devices will even make token appearances.
Tablets are expected to steal the 2011 CES, which gets under way January 6 in Las Vegas. Traditional technologies will nevertheless have their moments. New smartphones and the latest gaming advances will make headlines. However as the year of the tablet begins with CES 2011, notably absent are the company all others try to emulate.

When I previously contemplated getting a Li battery for my wife's Roomba, everything I read indicated the OEM charger could not be used with them. When I visited the ProTech Robotics site, it was unclear from the "Details" about their Li battery whether a separate charger or the OEM charger was required:
